Neturei Karta Chabad Deserved Mumbai Terror
Six Jews were killed in the attack three weeks ago, including the two Chabad emissaries to the Indian city. Chabad Houses around the world serve as community centers for Jews regardless of the degree of their religious observance.
According to the article, Chabad was rightfully punished for its relations with "the filthy, deplorable traitors – the cursed Zionists that are your friends."
The writer went on to slam the Hasidic group for inviting to the emissaries' funeral "villainous heads of state who uttered words of heresy and blasphemy."
Chabad itself was imbued with "false national sentiment," the article said, and the organization's centers around the globe hosted religious Jews alongside secular ones without making any distinction "between good and evil, right and wrong, pure and impure, a Jew and a former Jew, a believer and a heretic."
The conclusion, according to the writer, was that "the road you (Chabad) have taken is the road of death and it leads to doom, assimilation and the uprooting of the Torah."

Iraqi journalist hurls shoes at Bush Video Below post
As the two leaders met in Nuri al-Maliki's private office, a journalist sitting in the third row jumped up, shouting: "It is the farewell kiss, you dog," and threw his shoes one after the other towards Bush.
Maliki made a protective gesture towards the US president, who ducked and was not hit.
The journalist, Muntazer al-Zaidi from Al-Baghdadia channel which broadcasts from Cairo, was frogmarched from the room by security staff, an AFP journalist said.
Soles of shoes are considered the ultimate insult in Arab culture. After Saddam Hussein's statue was toppled in Baghdad in April 2003, many onlookers beat the statue's face with their soles.
Some Iraqi journalists stood up to apologise.
The White House said Bush ducked to avoid the first shoe, while the second narrowly missed the president.
Bush said: "Thanks for apologising on behalf of the Iraqi people. It doesn't bother me. If you want the facts, it was a size 10 shoe that he threw".
Playing down the incident, the president later added: "I don't know what the guy's cause is... I didn't feel the least bit threatened by it."

White House Press Secretary: President Is Well Aware Of Pollard Pardon Request
White House Press Secretary: President Is Well Aware Of Pollard Pardon Request
December 4, 2008SEE NOTE AT END OF ARTICLE: The following is a question which was asked by a reporter at Wednesday’s White House press briefing to Press Secretary Dana Perino:
REPORTER: Two questions. Two hundred of Israel’s rabbis and other Israeli leaders, including generals, petitioned the President concerning the very serious health condition, in his 23rd year in prison, of Jonathan Pollard. And they asked the President to give him clemency. I’m wondering, does the President — he is aware of this, and what is the reaction?
MS. PERINO: The President is well aware of the request to pardon — or commute the sentence of Jonathan Pollard, but as I said to Kathleen, I’m not able to comment on where those things stand. I just — it’s a private matter for the President and if and when there would be an action that the President would take, then we would let you know.
EDITORS NOTE: Behind the scenes, askonim from all walks of communal life have been diligently working together in unprecedented cooperation - and using every available angle to free Jonathan Pollard. Now is your chance to stand up for the silent suffering and make a difference!!
A nationwide grass roots effort on behalf of Jonathan Pollard was officially launched today. People are encouraged to click freepollardnow.com to join the effort to help set Jonathan Pollard free.
With less than two months until President George Bush leaves office, this grass roots effort is intended to remind the White House of Jonathan Pollard’s plight and to push for a commutation of his prison sentence.
Because it is critical that the White House hear from as many people as possible in the next several weeks, visitors to freepollardnow.com are urged to call, fax, and send letters to President Bush on a daily basis. The website provides contact information for the White House, a sample letter that people can fax or mail, and an online petition that will be sent to President Bush. Visitors to freepollardnow.com are reminded that just 60 seconds a day can help Jonathan Pollard go free.

Hillary Clinton, U.S. Secretary of State Nominee Video below post
Hillary Clinton, U.S. Secretary of State Nominee
Author: | Joanna Klonsky, Associate Editor |

Hillary Clinton's selection to serve as Barack Obama's secretary of State follows her strong race for the 2008 Democratic Party presidential nomination against him. Clinton was among a number of top national security officials named by Obama on December 1. Obama said he would nominate Robert M. Gates to remain as defense secretary, and nominated Gen. James L. Jones, a retired Marine commandant, for national security adviser, Eric H. Holder Jr. for attorney general, Susan Rice as ambassador the UN, and Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano for homeland security secretary.
Her eight years as first lady and nearly equal amount of time as senator from New York have given her broad exposure to U.S. foreign policy. In the Senate, Clinton followed U.S. military moves in Iraq and Afghanistan as a member of the Armed Services Committee. She has worked on climate change issues while serving on the Committee on the Environment and Public Works, and has also been closely involved in homeland security issues.
Clinton has projected a pragmatic but tough approach on national security issues. Her stance toward Iran is a case in point. She has called for a revival of diplomacy with Iran, while at the same time warning the Iranian regime in strong terms about the consequences it would face in the event of an attack on Israel. During the presidential primaries, Clinton proposed that the United States extend a nuclear deterrent to U.S. allies in the Middle East, as a response to Iran's suspected program to develop nuclear weapons technology.
Clinton voted to authorize the war in Iraq in 2002, but has since become one of the harshest critics of the Bush administration's foreign policy agenda, promising throughout her presidential campaign to end the war. Other areas of national security emphasis during her campaign included a call for stabilizing Pakistan and for preventing nuclear proliferation. Her Foreign Affairs essay in late 2007 included a call to revive what she saw as sagging U.S. credibility in the world.
As first lady, Clinton traveled abroad extensively. At the 1995 UN World Conference for Women in Beijing, Clinton spoke out against human and women's rights abuses in China and around the world. "It is a violation of human rights when babies are denied food, or drowned, or suffocated, or their spines broken, simply because they are born girls," Clinton said, or "when women and girls are sold into slavery or prostitution."

At least five Chabad House hostages have been killed scroll down for pictures & Videos
Five hostages in Mumbai's Chabad House have been killed, Israeli rescue forces reported from Jerusalem Friday afternoon.
Two gunmen were also killed in the operation against Islamic terrorists that had holed themselves up inside the building, Sky News quoted Indian National Security Guards chief J.K. Dutt as saying.
Earlier, following reports that the operation had reached its conclusion, Mumbai Police Chief Hassan Ghaffoor stressed to the crowd outside the Chabad center that "the operation is ongoing" but in its "final stage."
It came after commandos blew a hole in the wall of the besieged building as they tried to box in the Islamic terrorists who were holding an unspecified number of hostages.
The massive explosion shook the Chabad center, blowing out windows in neighboring buildings, while gunfire and smaller explosions followed the blast.
Commandos had rappelled from helicopters to storm the center earlier Friday, two days after a chain of Islamic terrorist attacks across India's financial center left at least 143 people dead and the city in panic.
Israel's ambassador to India, Mark Sofer, said he believed there had been up to nine hostages inside. Sofer denied reports that Israeli commandos had taken part in the operation.
The hostages were believed to include Chabad Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg and his wife, Rivka.
Haim Hoshen, the Foreign Ministry's Head of Asia and South Asia Department, told the Jerusalem Post that two to four Israelis were being held inside the building.
The Foreign Ministry said that a total of 17 Israelis were still unaccounted for in Mumbai.
Meanwhile, the Holtzberg's two-year-old son, Moshe, who was rescued from the attack, was reunited with his grandparents, Shimon and Yehudit Rosenberg, who arrived from Israel to take custody of him.
Speaking to Army Radio on Friday, a relative, Yitzhak Dovid Grossman, said there was "an eruption of emotion" when the grandparents met their grandson. But he said they soon resumed "worrying about what is happening with Rivki and her husband."
Also Friday morning, two Israeli businessmen were freed together with the dozens of hostages rescued late Friday morning from Mumbai's Oberoi hotel.
Earlier, an El Al plane carrying some 300 Israelis arrived at Ben Gurion Airport from Mumbai.
One of the passengers described the atmosphere in the city to Army Radio.

President Bush Pardons 14 People Man Convicted Of Bombing Coal Mine Among Them
Jesse Ray Harvey of Scarbro, W.Va., was given a 25-month sentence in 1990 after his conviction for using explosives to damage Milburn Colliery. The mine had been the target of a long strike by about 45 members of a United Mine Workers local.
CBS News correspondent Mark Knoller reports that the pardons Wednesday bring to 58 the number of pardons granted by Mr. Bush.
By comparison, his father, former President George H.W. Bush, granted 74 in four years; former President Bill Clinton granted 396 in eight years; former President Ronald Reagan did 393 in eight; former President Jimmy Carter did 534 in four. And former President Richard Nixon, who got one of Mr. Ford's 382 pardons, granted 863, reports Knoller.
Some pardons, like the one Mr. Ford gave Nixon in 1974, protect recipients from going to jail or reduce their sentences. But Mr. Bush has granted clemency mainly to allow people who committed relatively minor offenses and served their sentences long ago to clear their names.
Others granted pardons Wednesday were:

Tehran - Iran Slams U.S.: The Only Change In Obama Is Color, Not Policy
"This signifies a pursuit of the same erroneous policy as in the past," Larijani said when asked about Obama's comment on Friday.
"If the United States wants to change its standing in the region it should send good signals," he said.
"Obama understands that change does not only mean a change of colour and superficial differences, change must also have a strategic basis," the agency quoted Larijani as saying.
Obama told his first news conference since winning the US presidential election on Tuesday that Iran's pursuit of nuclear weapons was unacceptable and also that he would "respond appropriately" to a congratulatory letter from President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
"Iran's development of a nuclear weapon I believe is unacceptable. We have to mount an international effort to prevent that from happening."
Obama added "Iran's support of terrorist organisations, I think, is something that has to cease."

IRNA also quoted Larijani as saying Iran's leaders had chosen to pursue the country's nuclear programme "having calculated the risks" and was well aware that they would come under international pressure.
"But this was necessary for the future of Iran," he said, adding that the Islamic republic would not suspend its controversial programme of uranium enrichment despite UN Security Council resolutions and sanctions against it.
Enrichment is at the heart of Western fears that Iran could be seeking nuclear weapons as it can be diverted to make the fissile material for an atomic bomb as well as fuel for nuclear power plants.
Tehran insists that its nuclear ambitions are strictly peaceful and solely aimed at generating electricity.
Six major powers -- Britain, China, France, Germany, Russia and the United States -- have put forward the possibility of a package of technological, economic and political incentives if Iran suspends uranium enrichment.
Early in his election campaign, Obama said he favoured unconditional direct talks with Tehran, but he has since hardened his position.
Iran and the United States have not had diplomatic relations since Islamist students took American diplomats hostage for 444 days following the 1979 Islamic revolution which toppled the US-backed shah.
But in an unprecedented move, Ahmadinejad on Thursday sent a letter to Obama congratulating him on his election victory.
Conservative dailies also criticised Obama.
Kayhan headlined "Obama's men pro-Israeli," in reference to his appointment of Rahm Emanuel, a Jew, as White House chief of staff. It called him "a member of a terrorist Zionist group."
Jomhuri Islami's headline read: "Obama gives green light to the Zionist regime."

UPDATED - The LA Times Suppresses Obama’s Khalidi Bash Tape; Hikind Demands Video be Released
The Times described the going-away party for former University of Chicago professor, and Obama friend, Rashid Khalidi, in a story in April. The story reported that Palestinians thought they might have a friend in Obama because of his friendships in that community, despite the fact that his positions have never been particularly pro-Palestinian.
“A major news organization is intentionally suppressing information that could provide a clearer link between Barack Obama and Rashid Khalidi,” said McCain spokesman Michael Goldfarb, citing Obama’s friendship with Khalidi, who is now a professor at Columbia University.
He said the video could, among other things, show how Obama responded to a poem recited at the party accusing Israel of “terrorism” and warning of consequences for U.S. support for Israel, which Goldfarb described as “hate speech.”
“The election is one week away, and it’s unfortunate that the press so obviously favors Barack Obama that this campaign must publicly request that the Los Angeles Times do its job — make information public,” he said.
The campaign hadn’t previously demanded the video, though conservative bloggers have, and neither other reporters nor McCain’s researchers have been able to dig up a copy.
Khalidi is a controversial figure, reviled by pro-Israel activists, though not a marginal one. A former professor at the University of Chicago, he’s now Edward Said Professor of Arab Studies at Columbia, and respected by many in academia. He’s been criticized most for saying that Palestinians have a right to resist Israeli occupation and has been described as a former P.L.O. spokesman, a label he has denied.
The paper hasn’t explained its unwillingness to release the video, and Peter Wallsten, who found the tape and wrote about it, declined to discuss it with me last night. He forwarded an e-mail that the paper has sent readers who have complained as conservative blogs raise the issue.
“Over six months ago the Los Angeles Times published a detailed account of the events shown on the videotape. The Times is not suppressing anything. Just the opposite — the L.A. Times brought the matter to light,” wrote the readers’ representative, Jamie Gold.
L.A. Times spokeswoman Nancy Sullivan wouldn’t discuss the decision not to release the tape in detail.
“When we reported on the tape six months ago, that was our full report,” she said, and asked, “Does Politico release unpublished information?”
The answer to that question, of course, is yes — Politico and most news outlets constantly make available videos and documents, while after describing them in part, which is why the Times’ decision not to release the video is puzzling. My instinct, and many reporters’ at this point, is to share as much source material as possible.
Critics have suggested that the Times is witholding the video for political reasons, but there are other possibilities: competitive reasons, or out of tradition. In the internal mechanics of reporting, there’s another possibility as well. The video may have been given to the paper on the condition it not be released, or releasing it could compromise its source.
But the Times hasn’t explained the move, and the McCain campaign is turning up the heat on a story that, whether or not the tape is released, is a reminder that some of Obama’s Hyde Park friends stand well to the left of his stated positions.
UPDATE 5:30PM EST:
Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) today called upon Senator Barack Obama to request the release of a potentially controversial video in which he is featured praising Rashid Khalidi, former spokesman for the PLO and terrorist mastermind, Yasser Arafat. Khalidi, the Edward Said Professor of Arab Studies and the Director of the Middle East Institute at Columbia University, is a virulent anti-Semite known for his extremist views on Israel. He has called Israel an “apartheid system in creation” and a “racist state” that “brainwashed” Americans do not understand.
In 1995, Khalidi, together with his wife, co-founded the The Arab-American Action Network (AAAN), an anti-Israel organization that strongly supports the Palestinian terrorist movement. AAAN considers the creation of the state of Israel a “naqba,” or Arabic for “catastrophe.”
Yet, at a 2003 party in his home state of Chicago, Obama spoke effusively about Khalidi, and expressed the hope of continuing their relationship for “many years to come.” The L.A. Times later obtained a videotape of Obama’s remarks, but to date, has refused to share the video with other news outlets.
“As a leading media source, The L.A. Times owes a duty to its readers to provide unbiased and informative news coverage. Instead, the paper is failing to exhibit journalistic integrity,” Hikind said. “The American people are entitled to know all the facts regarding Obama, not just the ones his campaign, or those colluding with them, has filtered out.
Why is this video being kept from the voters?” Hikind demanded. “What, if anything, is the L.A. Times trying to hide? For the sake of the American people, Obama should immediately make this video public.”
